Mayors from across the country will come to Long Beach for discussions of policy solutions to challenges facing cities, and priorities for advocacy at the federal level.
LONG BEACH, Calif., June 25, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) has selected Long Beach, California, to host its 94th annual meeting in June 2026. The annual meeting is one of two major meetings the organization hosts each year to adopt policy resolutions that guide the organization's advocacy work. The event will bring mayors from across the USA to the City of Long Beach.

Mayor Richardson serves on the USCM Advisory Board and has appeared with the organization at events like South by Southwest, where he participated in a panel discussion called Cities of Tomorrow: Opportunities for Transforming Urban Life.
USCM is the official nonpartisan organization for cities with populations of 30,000 or more. Through the organization, mayors from 1,400 cities across the country engage with national leaders to advocate for policies that address the priorities of cities and share best practices on issues like homelessness, mental health, infrastructure, gun violence, and the environment. USCM also awards grant funding for new initiatives and solutions implemented in cities.
